Danielle graduated from Saint Mary’s University in 2017, acquiring a Bachelor of Arts with a minor in Sociology and major in Criminology. She earned her law degree at Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law in 2021. As a Senior Law Student, she completed a practicum term serving the clients of the Dalhousie Legal Aid Service in the fall of 2020 and cherished that early introduction to legal practice under the supervision of DLAS staff.
Danielle developed strong civil and family litigation skills during her articled clerkship at a busy rural law firm on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, and then with Cuffari Law Office in Windsor, where she narrowed her practice to focus on family law. She was excited to join Burchell MacDougall as an associate in May 2025 after getting to know a number of the firm’s lawyers in the community and through legal work as opposing counsel. She was and remains impressed by the collegial attitude that she encountered in the firm’s lawyers, and by their commitment to their clients. In her practice, she is dedicated to ensuring that her clients always have a clear understanding of their legal situation and the options available to them. While she recognizes and emphasizes the monetary and non-monetary value that negotiated resolutions to conflict often bring, she is very comfortable guiding clients through Court Processes where necessary.
In her free time, Danielle enjoys reading (especially science fiction) with a cat in her lap or spending time outdoors with her spouse, Callie. She has played rugby since 2009 and remains strongly connected to the Enfield Rugby Football Club. She was raised in Belnan and Stewiacke, and has now happily settled with Callie in Hilden, where they can be close to their families and enjoy finding ways to deter the local deer (gently, but firmly) from mowing down their flower and vegetable gardens.
